Marmedia is the market leader when it comes to Luxury Brand appeals suppliers in Europe but they were expanding their business model to include preorders and reorders worldwide.
Their existing website did not cater to their growing markets and needed a fresh look, that would display their services more clearly,
They wanted to improve the visual design, make the UI for the viewer more intuitive, and allow them to get in touch with a few clicks.
task
An important task was mapping out the user experience, and creating user flows. Once the design was finalized, I was also tasked with providing the mockup, graphics & imagery for the site.
Working in collaboration with the website developer, Lorenzo, providing him with specs as well as overseeing the mockup being transformed into a fully functional website was a key responsibility.

exploring solutions
An important skill for any freelance designer is to know how to scope out a project. I kicked off this collaboration by flushing out what their specific needs were and designing the layouts to provide suitable solutions.
They needed a concept that would drive their USPs to draw in more world wide retailers & and online luxury brand stores. This could be achieved with a minimalist template that would draw attention with stunning photos along with the key points of their services
designing
As the first step, I started to ideate with mood boards, pins and referenced other Luxury suppliers in the world. Based on my experience as a user and navigating through their sites, I noticed most of them had an overlapping features.
With this information & the brief in hand, I got down to using my pencil paper to do a few rough layouts with some Wordpress templates in mind.

Initally, the band planned on keeping all the pages as their original website, but on re-visiting the content it was found that most of it was quoting the same information, so I started with reorganized the content so all their services are in-front and clear.
The layouts were designed with clean & modern luxurious themes in mind. Knowing well that the content had to be in 2 languages - German & English, I had to keep in mind the complexity of the site as well, as layouts alterations will need to be accommodate with this switch.
The final site features a sophisticated design with a strong focus on luxury.
They did not have a guidebook or brand theme, so keeping with the aesthetics of the overall brand we choose to use Playfair Display for the Headlines and Lato for Paragraph & caption content. With extra large x-height and short descenders, Playfair Display is elegant, classy and excellent fit for Marmedia.

Call To Action acts as a signpost informing the user the next steps to take. Getting the user to contact the Marmedia team was the desired CTA agreed upon by the stakeholders
